Centenary Celebration of M. H. Panhwar (Sitara-e-Imtiaz)

The birth centenary (100th birthday) of the renowned scientist, scholar, and agriculturalist Mr. M. H. Panhwar, Sitara-e-Imtiaz (December 25, 1925 – April 21, 2007) was commemorated on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at M. H. Panhwar Farms, Khesana Mori, Tando Jam, Hyderabad, Sindh.

To mark this historic milestone, the following initiatives were announced:

1. A Program/Seminar on M. H. Panhwar at the M. H. Panhwar Institute of Sindh Studies, Jamshoro, scheduled for January 10, 2026.

2. Celebration of the 1st National Water Festival 2025, held on December 13, 2025.

3. Publication of two books highlighting research, scholarship, and legacy.

4. Introduction of two new mango varieties and jackfruit, reflecting M. H. Panhwar’s enduring contribution to agricultural innovation.

A cake-cutting ceremony was held at M. H. Panhwar Farm, Tando Jam, Hyderabad, followed by Fateha/Dua, laying of flowers at the grave, and the paying of tributes to the late M. H. Panhwar.

The ceremony was attended by Mohammad Ali Panhwar, Ghulam Sarwar Panhwar, Nirjan Rajani, Dr. Bhai Khan Shar, Dr. Wazir Ali Baloch, Lal Mohammad Panhwar, Ghulam Akbar Panhwar, Mohammad Usman Panhwar, Nafees Ahmed Noshad, Shahzeb Panhwar, Mir Arslan Gul Panhwar, Zaryab Panhwar, Irshad Ahmed Chandio, Sajjad Ahmed Chandio, Ghulam Hussain Panhwar, along with other family members, friends, and the staff of M. H. Panhwar Farms and the M. H. Panhwar Institute of Sindh Studies, Jamshoro.
